Commisioned piece for Drake
I've had the incredible honour to create a commissioned art piece for Drake and I think it’s a perfect example of how you can subtly and thoroughly tell someone’s story without using a portrait.
I used lions to represent Drake, his son and his mother, symbolizing strength and protection.
Inspired by Drake’s tattoos, I incorporated symbols like the owl, Toronto, and X020, and many more, each representing key moments in his life.
I called this piece “Champs-Élysées”: a tribute to love, family and the essence of legacy. Champs-Élysées translates to “Elysian Fields” from the Greek mythology, meaning resting place of Greek gods and heroes, similar to the Christian paradise.
So happy with how this turned out and super proud of it hanging on the wall in Toronto!
