Marcel van Luit creates newest painting Elan live at Formula 1 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix Zandvoort 2025
This weekend, contemporary artist Marcel van Luit was present at Circuit Zandvoort for the Formula 1 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix. For Marcel, the event marked a special return. Last year he was commissioned by the Dutch Grand Prix to design the official trophy and to create a unique painting for Max Verstappen. This year he was invited back with an even more immersive contribution.
Over the course of two days, Marcel completed his latest large-scale painting live in the exclusive Founders Lounge. Guests were able to witness the creative process up close, while between races Marcel’s animated artworks lit up the screens across the venue, adding a layer of imagination and artistry to the racing atmosphere.
The painting Marcel created live at Zandvoort carries the title Elan. True to his acclaimed Fortune Series, the work embodies the proud and graceful spirit of the lion, a symbol of strength, courage and nobility.
Next to the original painting, Marcel van Luit released Elan as a fine art print, limited to 250 editions.
